  1. Payable Accounting

Mission Description                      

  • The Payables Accountant is responsible for managing the accounts payable function by ensuring accurate invoice verification, timely supplier payments, proper reconciliation of accounts, and compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Invoice Processing & Verification
  • Receive, verify, and process supplier invoices for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies.
  • Code and post invoices into the accounting system in line with company procedures.
  • Route invoices to appropriate Heads of Departments (HoDs) for approval and follow up on outstanding approvals.
  • Payments & Reconciliation
  • Prepare payment runs (checks, bank transfers, electronic payments) in line with approved timelines.
  • Reconcile supplier statements against company records, resolve discrepancies, and maintain up-to-date creditor ledgers.
  • Monitor and track operational charges, ensuring proper allocation and timely submission for payment.
  • Supplier Relations
  • Act as the main point of contact for supplier payment queries.
  • Manage disputed invoices by liaising with suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Build strong supplier relationships to support uninterrupted supply of goods and services.
  • Compliance & Reporting
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (eg, VAT, withholding tax) and internal controls in all accounts payable processes.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing through timely reporting and reconciliations.
  • Assist internal and external auditors by providing documentation, reconciliations, and audit schedules.

Profile

  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree-Accounting/Finance/Banking options or a related course.
  • CPA (K)
  • 5 years preferably in logistics/shipping/manufacturing sector.


Qhse Controller

Mission Description                      

Based in Nairobi and reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for the following key result areas: -

  • Support and review SOPs.
  • Conduct operational audits and institute continuous improvements (KAIZEN) and preventive activities through the project.
  • Identify operational and QHSE training needs and facilitate delivery of the training.
  • Ensure a secure, safe and healthy working environment during the course of the project whilst monitoring activities to avoid environmental pollution.
  • Conduct tool box meetings with the teams on safety matters among others
  • Ensure centralized documentation and report all incidents and accidents lead the root-cause analysis process and implement corrective and preventive measures.
  • Ensure QHSSE and business ethics compliance as per the SOP's and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and submit reports to the GLC Operations Manager and Group Reporting as per policy.
  • Establish and implement emergency response procedures and evaluation plans and ensure all personnel are aware of the plans, procedures and assembly point.
  • Ensure that appropriate personal protective equipment are available, in good condition, and sufficient for all employees.
  • Induct all new employees and contractors on site on all health, safety and environmental policy and regulations to ensure their safety.
  • Raise requisition for QHSSE supplies to facilitate operations.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents and take counter measure, identify the root cause, corrective and preventive actions and report the same to the relevant teams in real time.

Profile

  • Bachelors degree in Science related Field.
  • Working knowledge of Management Systems eg QMS ISO 9001, EMS ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
  • NEBOSH certification will be an added advantage
  1. Pre delivery inspecton Technician

Mission Description                      

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the candidate will be responsible for:-

  • Carrying out receipt and inspection of motor vehicles and report any defect/damages/missing items immediately
  • Inspect motor vehicles as per the Pre-delivery Inspection (PDI) Standard Operating Procedure
  • Report any defect/damages as per the PDI standards.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and service the motor vehicles as per manuals.
  • Install parts & accessories as per specification.
  • Perform road tests for inspected vehicles as per SOP.
  • Complete PDI inspection sheets/reports and submit as per file management SOP.
  • Ensure no vehicle is released from PDI without 100% ok PDI
  • Clean, repair and maintain workshop tools & equipment
  • Update operational system (VITS/other)
  • Any other role assigned by management from time to time.

Profile

  • Diploma in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Two (2) years experience.
