Credit Analyst

Our client is an asset leasing company focusing on MSMEs looking for a Credit Analyst to analyze credit data and financial information of persons or companies that are applying for credit or loans to determine the risk.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with other departments to ensure that actions are appropriately carried out to execute on key initiatives to drive improved credit performance, reduce risk and improve accountability.
• Analyze loan applications’ credit data and financial information including computing financial ratios and reviewing projections for reasonability
• Prepare and propose credit appraisals
• Ensure compliance with the Company’s Credit Rules & Procedures.
• Conduct regular visits as directed to monitor and report on borrower loan performance
• Regular monitoring of overdue accounts and reporting on action taken to recover overdue amounts during company meetings
• Perform appraisal of customer loan applications and making recommendations.
• Ensure timely submission of quality Quarterly Credit Reports
• Monitor risk metrics and highlight emerging risk issues and trends to the Risk team and relevant investment team staff
• Provide support on projects related to the knowledge management and a variety of risk management projects

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
• Certified Public Accountant or equivalent will be an added advantage
• 3-5 years’ experience as a Credit analyst is a must
• Experience working in a Microfinance is a must
• Ability to critically analyze financial data
• Excellent judgment and fact-based decision-making abilities
• Ability to maintain composure under high-pressure situations and deliver results in a timely manner
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Strong interpersonal skills
