Cashier Job
Our client is a hospital in Nairobi looking to recruit for a cashier to be responsible for all cash and non-cash transactions and will be required to keep accurate records of the same. This is a key role contributing to the financial performance of the hospital.
Responsibilities
Conducts reception area activities including client registration.
Conducts cash and non-cash transactions and ensures correct payment amounts have been made through the respective channels and receipts/invoices issued.
Balances daily cash accounts at the end of end of each day in the hospital.
Maintains petty cash and receives approvals from the line manager to spend.
Solving all cash related queries.
Maintains all accounting records and ensures discrepancies have been reported and resolved with the line manager.
Makes daily, weekly and monthly reconciliation and transaction reports.
Verifies insurance acceptance and benefits by reviewing and recording insurance claims.
Manages NHIF claims and invoices.
Provides assistance to the front office desk in handling patient admissions and provision of information to patients, families and visitors.
To conduct data entry and clerical tasks.
Maintains work operations by following standard operating procedures and policies.
Protects organization’s values by keeping patient information confidential.
Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records as required
Handle daily bank deposits.
Liaises with the finance team to resolve any discrepancies in daily transaction
Qualifications
A Diploma in Accounting from a recognised institution
At least two years working experience as a cashier in a reputable organisation
Computer Literate.
Strong math skills.
Good communication skills
Good organisation and prioritisation skills
