Skills Geographic is a Regional Staff Recruitment Company that specializes in recruiting skilled professionals across different industries. We are currently working with our client, a large vegetable and herbs farm located in the outskirts of Nairobi, to fill the position of Farm Manager.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Agriculture and should have training in Food Quality Requirements, especially for the European Market. The Farm Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the farm, ensuring that all crops are grown and harvested in accordance with best practices, and overseeing a team of farm workers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee all farming operations, including planting, harvesting, and crop rotation.
• Develop and implement plans for improving crop yield, soil quality, and pest control.
• Monitor and maintain equipment, ensuring that all machinery is in good working order.
• Oversee a team of farm workers, ensuring that they are trained and motivated to perform their duties.
• Ensure that all crops are grown and harvested in accordance with best practices and food quality requirements for the European market.
• Prepare budgets and manage farm finances, ensuring that costs are kept within budgetary constraints.
• Keep up-to-date with developments in farming techniques and implement new methods as appropriate.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Agriculture
• Training in Food Quality Requirements, especially for the European Market is a MUST.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
