Job Title: Mechanical Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Technician to join our team. As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for the repair, servicing, and maintenance of machinery, equipment, systems, and infrastructures to ensure their availability and maximum performance. You will also provide support in the commissioning of new equipment. Responsibilities:

Machine Output:

- Ensure machine performance aligns with standard operating procedures, enhancing overall performance and product quality.

- Maintain a minimum of 95% machine capacity at all times.

- Possess knowledge of operating all machines in production for troubleshooting and training purposes.

Machine Breakdowns:

- Execute timely machine repairs to avoid production downtime.

- Implement the Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedule, ensuring comprehensive preventative maintenance is conducted.

- Lead the team to deliver maintenance tasks within designated timelines and budget.

- Conduct daily and weekly checks to ensure smooth operation of the site.

- Schedule both internal and external work, maximizing planned downtime and minimizing unplanned downtime.

- Perform root cause analysis and resolve machine issues efficiently.

Maintenance Cost:

- Develop clear accountability for maintenance material spend and establish a strategy to manage departmental expenditures effectively.

- Maintain equipment logs, including performance records, repairs, calibrations, and other relevant information.

- Train operators on simple diagnostic tools to identify maintenance issues, such as unfamiliar sounds, machine overheating, and greasing.

- Adhere to clean and hygienic standards by keeping workstations clean and organized.

Performance Management Duties:

- Submit weekly results, objectives, and issues to your Head of Department (HOD) in a timely manner.

- Actively participate in performance appraisals as per the performance management plan and schedule.

Qualifications:

- HND or Diploma in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Mechatronics Engineering.

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar capacity.
